What? Very Nice Ice Skating at Festive Fort Regent

When? 12th December – 5th January
Yes, the Ice Rink is back for 2019!  Perfect for all the family so make sure to pay them a visit this Christmas. Very Nice Ice have operated ice rinks and staged similar events across a number of major UK towns and cities, including Edinburgh and Manchester and are looking forward to meeting their new customers in Jersey!
 
What? The Genuine Jersey, Simply Christmas Royal Square Markets
Where? The Royal Square, Hill Street, Jersey
When? 12th – 15th December 2019
Gather your friends and family and immerse yourself in Christmas cheer at this year’s Simply Christmas markets in St. Helier’s Royal Square. Showcasing over 40 of Jersey’s finest artisans, Simply Christmas brings you a labyrinth of stalls oozing with festive magic, beautiful gifts and tasty treats. With hot food and live music, it’s the perfect place to buy unique gifts, directly from the artisans who have created and produced them.
 
What? La Fête dé Noué
Where? St. Helier, Jersey
When? 12th – 24th December 2019
La Fête dé Noué is the name given to St. Helier’s month-long celebration of all things Christmassy, and the capital certainly takes the festive season seriously! With everything from late-night shopping and seasonal markets to carol concerts and a spectacular panto, anyone who can’t wait for Christmas to come around will find themselves right at home.
 
What? Jersey Symphony Orchestra - Christmas Concert
Where? Fort Regent Leisure Centre, St Helier, Jersey
When? 15th December 2019
An evening of fabulous music performed by the Jersey Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Morley and led by Martin Smith. The soloist is Rob Burton, winner of the Woodwind Category of the BBC’s Young Musician of 2018. Beaulieu Convent School Chamber Choir directed by Gitte-Maj Donoghue will be joining the orchestra.
 
What? The Jersey Battle of Flowers Christmas Parade
Where? Town Centre, St Helier, Jersey
When? 15th December 2019
A delightful Christmas spectacle with many floats forming a colourful procession through the streets of St. Helier. The floats are festooned with twinkling lights and the performers both on and off the floats, many of them in seasonal costume, help the spectators get into the Christmas spirit.
 
What? In the Make Space - Mênagiéthe-Making (Wreaths)
Where? Jersey Museum, The Weighbridge, Jersey
When? 16th – 20th December 2019
Christmas is nearly here! Why not get into the festive mood by making a traditional Jersey Mênagiéthe wreath to hang up for Christmas? Head to the Make Space in the Handmade Jersey Exhibition at Jersey Museum to join one of the Christmas Workshops. This event is suitable for all abilities and is free for Jersey Heritage Members. The ‘Make Space’ is kindly supported by the Channel Islands Lottery and the Association of Jersey Charities.
 
What? Cinderella, 110th Anniversary Pantomime
Where? The Jersey Opera House, Gloucester Street, Jersey
When? 20th December 2019 – 4th January 2020
To conclude their 110th Anniversary celebrations, the Jersey Green Room Club presents the most beloved of all pantomimes, Cinderella. Join the irrepressible Buttons, the ugliest Ugly Sisters you’ve ever seen and, of course, the beautiful eponymous heroine in this spectacular Christmas-time favourite! Let the Jersey Green Room Club be your Fairy Godmother this festive season as we whisk you away to a magical place where dreams come true and love always wins the day!
 
What? Christmas Day Swim - Old Smugglers Inn
Where? La Mont Du Quaisne, St. Brelade, Jersey
When? 25th December 2019
Traditionally held by 'The Old Smugglers Inn' at Ouaisne and 'The Watersplash', St. Ouen, these swims are always very popular. Head down to Ouaisne Slip for 10:20 on Christmas morning, for an early dip before your festivities begin! This swim is raising money for Jersey Hospice Care and JSPCA Animal Shelter. Warm refreshments will be served afterwards in The Old Smugglers Inn as a reward for your bravery!
