Redevelopment of two large States sites?
Ministers revealed that the former Planning Department building at South Hill, and the former government HQ, Cyril Le Marquand House, are now being transferred to the States of Jersey Development Company (SOJDC).
The news was confirmed by the Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Kevin Lewis:
"The Regeneration Steering Group, the political body that directs the SOJDC has directed the transfer of South Hill and Cyril Le Marquand House to the SOJDC’, he said.
"We are awaiting completion of development briefs for the plots to be undertaken by the Strategic Policy Planning and Performance Department before the land will be formally conveyed to the company by ministerial decision, and 15 days notice to the Assembly."
He added that there was a slight delay to the transfer of Cyril Le Marquand House as the data centre is currently still in situ there.
The aim is for Cyril Le Marquand House to be transferred to the SOJDC in the first quarter of 2020.
States employees have been moved out of the former government HQ, and into new premises in Broad Street, as part of the major States change program aimed at saving money by bringing departments more closely together.
