Caring Cooks wins school meals contract
Over the next three years, Haute Vallée, Grainville, Les Quennevais, Hautlieu and Victoria College will now all have their meals prepared by Caring Cooks.
The charity will be taking over from Capsicum Catering, which has provided food at each of the schools for the past 10 years.
The news comes after the charity was last year chosen to deliver ‘Flourish’ – a £200,000 two-year pilot scheme to deliver hot meals into two local primary schools.
Taking the Flourish brand and adapting it for the secondary school audience, the concept and the menus have been created to give young people a 'grown up' dining experience and hot food choices that they may choose in a restaurant.
"We are absolutely thrilled to bits to announce that we have won the schools catering contract, to provide nutritious and tasty food to 5 secondary schools as well as our very popular primary school menu to Victoria College Preparatory School."
The Caring Cooks team have worked so hard for this and it is our ambition that by 2030 every child in Jersey, aged between 5 and 18, will have been touched by one of our programmes of education and support. The success of our tender is another step towards that goal and we couldn’t be more excited to make a start and share our exciting new menus.
