Andium’s Ann Court Homes Approved

Two listed buildings and a pub will be demolished to make way for 165 new homes in St Helier.

Andium Homes has been given permission to build 130 one bed and 35 two bed properties at Ann Court. It will also create a shoppers car park with 137 spaces.

Five apartment blocks of between four and six and a half storeys will replace two listed buildings which are part of a terrace of seven homes, and Toddy’s Bar, which will also be knocked down.

Planning officials say the usual policy of not demolishing listed buildings is balanced by the improvements the scheme will deliver to the overall area.

Under the plans, a new public square will be created on the current Ann Place car park. Roads outside the Arts Centre will be permanently closed to traffic.
